Strategic plan for implementation of local elections - official
Caxito, ANGOLA, May 6 - The strategic plan for the implementation of local elections aimed at bolstering the administrative decentralization was introduced on Saturday in northern Bengo province by
the minister of Territory and State Reform, Adão de Almeida.

Speaking to the press, the official said the strategy outlined by the government for the implementation of local elections, will enable citizens to figure out what the government intends to do.
In the meantime, the minister considered the meeting positive, since it enabled him to gather important contributions from the participants, stressing that the Ministry of Territory is prepared to briefly present the basic relations that the government will propose for holding local elections, with emphasis on the law on selection criteria of the municipalities.
According to Adão de Almeida , the main goal is to find practical examples of municipalities with more urban characteristics compared to others, with a higher population density and
greater capacity to generate income.
The seminar was attended by the governor of Bengo, Mara Quiosa, magistrates, members of the government, MPs, chieftains, religious, representatives of the defense, security and
internal order, municipal administrators, public officials among other guests.
