Judge pledges to implement superior council's guidelines

Lubango, ANGOLA, May 3 - The implementation of the new resolutions of Superior Council of Judicial Magistrate that scrap the Municipal Courts of Caconda and Matala and turning them into provincial departments, is among the priorities of the new presiding judge of the Provincial Court of the southern Huíla province, Tânia Gonçalves. ,

 

 

The Magistrate said so Wednesday while introducing herself to the members of the Provincial Government of Huíla.

 

The change will help reduce the number of citizens who move from one area to another in search for solution to their legal cases.

 

Judges will have the competence to handle the issue in their jurisdiction, similar to Huíla Provincial Court, she said.

 

According to the Magistrate, local resident will not need to travel to the headquarters of provincial court to settle their matters.

 

Tânia Gonçalves pledged her commitment to justice and citizen, as judges work on behalf of the people.

 

With three-year term, the presiding judge of the Provincial Court of Huíla, Tânia Gonçalves, is the first woman to take up this position in the province.
