Prosecutor happy with lack of excessive remand in Caboxa prison

Caxito, ANGOLA, May 1 - The provincial public prosecutor for the northern Bengo Province, Neto Joaquim Neto, on Monday in Caxito City expressed his satisfaction with the lack of excessive remand detention cases in the Caboxa Prison. ,

 

The prosecutor was speaking to the press, making an assessment of the Legality Week, held from 23 to 27 April, adding that this positive result was facilitated by the fact that justice organs showed greater speed and efficiency in dealing with lawsuits.  

 

“Fortunately, this situation is satisfactory, since no excessive remand cases were found in Bengo (...)”, emphasised the source, adding that he also took good note of some concerns presented by the citizens.

 

He then revealed that the Prosecution Office in Bengo will be stricter in tackling corruption, money embezzlement, impunity and money laundering, stressing, however, that the institution counts on the collaboration of the citizens, such as in making denunciations.   

 

“The fight against corruption, money laundering and impunity is not a task that is exclusive to the Attorney-General Department, but it also involves the society, because it has to do with the moralisation of society”, he admitted.

 

The Legality Week events took place under the motto “The Attorney-General Department and the fight against corruption, money laundering and impunity”.
