Minister highlights importance of development programme

Minister Pedro Luís da Fonseca was speaking to the press, last Thursday in Luanda, in the end of the Fourth Session of the Cabinet Council, chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The meeting approved the 2018/2022 National Development Plan (PND), which comprises different pillars, one of them supporting measures to boost human development and wellbeing.
Thus, he explained, the PND is connected to inclusive economic development, aiming for the reduction of social inequalities and poverty, as well as the creation of infrastructures.
He then concluded that the PND, among other aspects, is also focusing on stimulating citizenship, citizens’ participation in the democratic life of the country, valorisation of entrepreneurial initiatives and innovative undertakings, as well as promoting the creation of employment.
