2018-2022 National Development Plan gets green light

Luanda, ANGOLA, April 26 - National Development Plan (PND) 2018-2022 was approved on Thursday in Luanda during the 4th Session of Cabinet Council. ,

 

The document constitutes the second medium-term planning instrument, following 2013-2017 plan.

 

Under the long-term strategic plan, PND will guide the Executive's actions towards the implementation of a set of policies that ensure the improvement of the well-being and quality of life of Angolan families.

 

The document will also guide the Government in de-concentration and territorial decentralization.

 

It will ensure the creation of conditions that boost the territorial competitiveness, said the communiqué released at the end of the meeting.

 

PND also guides the Executive to boost the citizenship and the participation of the population in the democratic life of the country, and enhances the entrepreneurship and innovation and creation of jobs.

 

Chaired by the President João Lourenço, the session served to inform on a memorandum on the strategy of implementation of Local Authorities.

 

The document presents a set of political options related to this process in the country.

 

The meeting also approached the Draft Law to amend the Law of National Holidays, Locations and Dates of National Celebration,  to be forwarded to National Assembly for approval.

 

The above Draft Law aims to incorporate into the current Law the dates of January 15 (former combatant and veteran of the motherland day), and March 23 (Cuito Cuanavale battle day ) which become National Celebration, as well as change the "bridge" regime.
