GM Announces Restoration of Shift and Additional Jobs
From UAW Vice President Cindy Estrada:
As a result of increasing sales and the outstanding quality work of the members of UAW Local 1853, General Motors has announced the addition of a 3rd shift of production at the Spring Hill, Tennessee facility in September 2018.
This announcement will recall the laid off seniority members of Local 1853 and create an opportunity for approximately 350 additional members to transfer, pursuant to Appendix A of the 2015 National Agreement.
This is exciting news for UAW local 1853 and we shall continue to work toward our goal of 100% of our members being fully employed!
