SADC Foreign ministers jet in
Luanda, ANGOLA, April 23 - The Foreign ministers of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) last Sunday started to arrive in Luanda to participate on Monday, April 23, in the meeting that is preparing the Extraordinary Summit of the region’s Double Troika. ,
The first dignitary to land in the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, in Luanda, was the Zambian Foreign minister, Joseph Malanji, who was welcomed by the secretary of State for Co-operation, Domingos Vieira Lopes, and the Angolan ambassador to Zambia, Balbina da Silva.
A source linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said to ANGOP that with the gathering SADC intends to harmonise positions in regard to the conflict in DR Congo.
Other dignitaries expected to arrive in Luanda are the Foreign minister of South Africa, Tanzania, Lesotho and DRC.
Besides the situation in DR Congo, the summit will analyse also the situation in Lesotho, as well as discuss ways to consolidate the democratic process in southern Africa.
The SADC Heads of State Summit is to happen on Tuesday, for which are already confirmed the presences of the presidents of Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Swaziland (as guest), DR Congo (guest) and Lesotho.
