Governments of Lunda Sul and Upper Katanga sign protocol of intention
Lubumbashi, ANGOLA, April 2 - A protocol of cooperation intent, with the aim of implementing actions aimed at the development of the Mining, Higher Education, Trade, Tourism and Agriculture sectors, was signed last weekend in Lubumbashi by the governments of Lunda Sul (Angola) and Upper Katanga (DR Congo).,
The memorandum, signed by the governors Ernesto Kiteculo (Lunda Sul) and Celestin Pande Kapopo (Upper Katanga), aims to broaden relations and promote trade between the two provinces.
The aim of this protocol is to allow Angolan and Congolese entrepreneurs to invest in both provinces in the future, with a view to boosting the export of rural products, as well as increasing the number of tourists visiting the circumscriptions and strengthening the teaching staff for the Lunda Sul.
On the occasion, the Governor of Upper Katanga, Celestin Kapopo, considered this intention as fundamental, since both provinces need private investments to promote sustainable development and, consequently, generate employment for the youth.
The official expects from the Lunda Sul government an official invitation to know the economic potential that the district has in order to encourage the Congolese entrepreneurs to invest in this part of the Angolan territory.
He added that Angolan businessmen "have the doors open" to invest in Upper Katanga.
The governor of Lunda Sul, Ernesto Kiteculo, considered the signing of the memorandum to be timely, since his government has as a priority the development of the agriculture and education sectors and wishing that the intentions of the two governments be transformed as soon as possible, in a fact for the welfare of the two peoples.
