Federal Contracting Assistance Available for US Federal Contractor Registration

Anchorage, Alaska, April 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Department of the Interior (DOI) issued a solicitation for small businesses who can provide aircraft maintenance services for fixed-wing government-owned aircraft in Alaska. They intend to award multiple contracts with three-year ordering periods and will only award the contracts to small businesses. The last day a small business can submit a quote is April 20, 2018. For assistance meeting this deadline with proper registrations and a strong offer, small businesses may use third-party government registration firm, US Federal Contractor Registration (USFCR).

The requirements to fulfill the DOI's needs are found on the federal business opportunity solicitation which can be located on the Advanced Procurement Portal from USFCR. Businesses will see on the solicitation that contractors only need to supply quotes for services that they are able to fulfill. Maintenance services may include scheduled inspections, mechanical discrepancies found during inspection, refurbishing, unscheduled maintenance and/or repairs. It's worth noting that the DOI performs inspections on their aircraft at every 100 hours of operation.

The work may be performed at locations throughout the State of Alaska including Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai/Soldotna, Kodiak, Dillingham, Kotzebue, Nome, Glennallen, King Salmon, Port Alsworth/Lake Clark, and Galena.

Contracting officers will be unable to assist with specific contractor requirements such as registration in the System for Award Management (SAM).

SAM is the mandatory registration that all federal contractors must complete before making offers to perform any work for the government.
