Luanda, ANGOLA, March 23 - Angolan head of State João Lourenço received in audience the US ambassador to Angola Nina Maria Fite on Friday. ,

 

The US diplomat did not speak to the press at the end of the meeting.

 

This is the first meeting Nina Fite had with President João Lourenço, since she became US ambassador to Angola.

 

Cooperation between Angola and United States covers the fields of defence, education (English language) and health sectors.

 

The United States has been assisting the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) in prevention of HIV/AIDS.

 

Nina Fite was accredited as US ambassador to Angola in February this year.

 

In accreditation ceremony, she reiterated her government's availability to work with the Angolan Government and people, as well as to strengthen existing cooperation.
