PGR hears former BNA governor over alleged fraud of USD 500 million

ANGOLA, March 16 - According to the National Radio of Angola (RNA), Valter Filipe was heard in the National Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Action (DNIAP), where he entered and left "freely, with the purpose of collaborating with the judicial authorities."

Speaking to journalists, the Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pita Grós, said that in a timely manner, the institution will make statements on this matter. In the same process, other officials of the Angolan central bank and public entities, whose names were not disclosed, are also listed.

The case is linked to the investigation initiated last year by the British National Anti-Crime Agency (NCA), following a transfer of USD 500 million from the BNA to an account at Credit Suisse Bank in London, England.
