Three investment units formally extinguished
Luanda, ANGOLA, March 14 - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on Tuesday issued an Executive Order through which he extinguishes the Technical Unit for Private Investment (UTIP), the Agency for Promotion of Investments and Exports (APIEX) and the Technical Unit of Support to Investments (UTAIP).,
According to a press note from the Civil Office of the Head of State, in replacement of the mentioned three institutions, the Head of State created the Agency for Private Investment and Promotion of Exports (AIPEX).
On the Executive Order it is explained that the new institution comes in the ambit of the need to speed up and facilitate private investments in the country, promote exports, international businesses and entrepreneurial partnerships, with a view to increasing competitiveness of the national economy.
On a different Executive Order, the Head of State appointed the new board of AIPEX, namely Licínio de Freitas Vaz Contreiras (chairman), assisted by the directors Cláudia da Encarnação Costa Gonçalves Pedro, Lello João Francisco, José Chinjamba and Sandra Maria Pinto Dias dos Santos.
