INDIANAPOLIS, IN, US, March 12, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Rev. Jay Lawlor is writing a series of articles to be included as resources on his Faith Network for Economic Justice page. The first in the series are articles in support of America's Goals for 2030 as witnesses of faith for social justice. He summarizes that America’s Goals are a community-based approach to a vibrant economy, opportunity for all, and a healthy natural environment. Like the Millennium Development Goals, which the Rev. Lawlor championed, "Each of the seven goals have specific targets and a set of specific Indicators," said the Rev. Lawlor. He further stated "These targets and Indicators produce a Report Card which ranks every state on progress toward America’s Goals."

He emphasized that success will require our society to act on all levels, with leadership by government, business and labor, faith groups, advocacy organizations, and individuals. For Christians, striving for justice and peace among all people, and respecting the dignity of every human being are central to our faith. The challenges of economic inequality in the United States call each of us to witness to the promises of baptism in very real ways. "America’s Goals are an opportunity for that real engagement," said the Rev. Lawlor.

Following an overview of America's Goals, the Rev. Jay Lawlor offers insight into the Christian tradition of economic justice. He further states how America's Goals are consistent with this Christian witness for justice.
