The Rev. Jay Lawlor writes on his blog how youth are leading in ending gun violence.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, US, March 6, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Rev. Jay Lawlor has a written an article on his blog in support of the youth from Marjory Stoneman Douglas and their leadership in advocating to end gun violence. "The students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are standing up and speaking out to end gun violence. They are standing up and speaking out for common sense gun legislation," said the Rev. Lawlor on his website. He continued "They not only have every right to stand up and speak out, they are on the right side of history on the issue. They are calling out politicians and the NRA and demanding change."

In the article the Rev. Lawlor mentions a CNN Opinion article written by Cameron Kasky, a 17 year-old student from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. After providing a quote from Kasky's article, the Rev. Jay Lawlor writes: "Cameron is correct. Politicians have abandoned our nations children by failing to keep guns out of schools. Politicians have abandonded all of us by failing to keep guns out of the hands of those who should never have a gun. Politicians have abandoned us by failing to keep military assault rifles out of the hands of civilians. Nonetheless, the youth of our nation are giving us hope."

The Rev. Lawlor mentions the youth led March for Our Lives to occur across the United States on March 24, 2018. He then concludes his article by stating "The youth of our nation are standing up and speaking out. The youth of our nation are marching to be heard for real change. The youth of our nation are taking the lead on ending gun violence. We need to follow."
