MPLA deplores political exploitation on capital repatriation bill
Luanda, ANGOLA, February 23 - The ruling MPLA party has regretted the taking political advantage of challenge on repatriation of financial resources deposited abroad. ,
The regret was expressed Thursday by deputy chairperson of the ruling MPLA party’s Parliamentary group.
João Pinto was presenting the Declaration of Draft Law on Repatriation of Capital, at Parliament, under the Government initiative.
However, he said, this situation contribute to the usurpation of the powers of the legal constitutional bodies.
"Voices are trying to make political use of the challenge on return of financial resources lodged abroad, and the creation of organs or ad-hoc services, seen as attempt to usurp powers of existing legal constitutional bodies, "he slammed.
The MP, who described the Repatriation of Capital as genuine, stressed that it was the then candidate for the ruling party’s president who launched the challenge in form of slogan, to ensure greater transparency and combat corruption.
He said the society is aware that MPLA's governance programme, under the motto
"to improve what is right and correct what is wrong," led by the President João Lourenço, launched the challenge of legislating on the repatriation of resources deposited abroad.
The initiative is meant to clarify and encourage savings, investment private sector and help the state in the challenge of transparency.
According to him, the Bill aims to protect and encourage citizens and businesses with financial resources abroad.
The intention is to protect those resources in the country and ensure creation of jobs for Angolans.
