Analogic to Demonstrate its Airport Checkpoint CT Scanner, ConneCT, in Four Global Regions by July 2018

Four Airports Around the World Raise the Bar in Checkpoint Security, Plan Demonstrations of Analogic CT Technology to Keep the Traveling Public Safe

PEABODY, Mass., Feb. 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), enabling the world’s medical imaging and aviation security technology, today announced that the company intends to demonstrate the ConneCT™, Analogic’s next-generation CT scanner for airport checkpoints, at four airports representing four regions around the world by the end of July 2018. The first demonstrations have started in Japan and a demonstration in Western Europe is expected to begin next month.

Airports in the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Asia-Pacific region will host demonstrations of ConneCT, featuring its CT imaging technology, automated threat detection capabilities and touchscreen interface.

CT scanners for airport checkpoints are set to replace aging technology systems currently in airports, becoming the new standard of safety and security for the traveling public worldwide. Analogic has over a decade of operational experience designing and supporting aviation checkpoint CT scanners, more than any other current checkpoint CT solution provider. The Analogic ConneCT CT scanner, launched in 2017, incorporates multiple innovations for better security, passenger throughput and reliability.

“Current technology is simply beyond its lifecycle,” said Mark Laustra, vice president of global business development and government relations. “CT technology represents a significant leap in both imaging and automated threat detection, giving screeners the information they need to identify prohibited items and potential threats and keep passengers safe. Analogic’s CT technology leverages our 50 years of experience with medical CT to provide superior imaging in a next-generation system that has been optimized to provide best-in-class threat detection performance with the lowest cost of ownership on the market. We are confident that Analogic will continue to lead the security and detection market to better serve and protect travelers.”

Analogic has a 50-year pedigree in medical and aviation security CT technology, leveraging its experience to provide medical-grade CT imaging and the most advanced threat detection available for airport checkpoints.
