President assesses priorities of Luanda's development plan

Luanda, ANGOLA, February 9 - The priorities of Luanda's development plan are being assessed since Friday morning, in a meeting between the Angolan President, João Lourenço, and the local authorities of the province. ,

The meeting follows last Thursday’s assessment visit the president made to several social undertakings underway in the Angolan capital.

 

The governor of Luanda, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, defended as priority the resolution of immediate needs of the people, such as the basic sanitation and water supply system.

 

The governor expects that within the next two years at least 80 percent of Luanda inhabitants could have access to drinkable water to reduce the diseases and deaths resulting from poor water quality.

 

The meeting, taking place at the headquarters of the Luanda Province government, is being attended by Cabinet ministers, the provincial governor, the deputy governors of the province, municipal administrators and provincial directors.
