Charlotte, North Carolina, Feb. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Acuity Healthcare, a leader in long-term acute care, is pleased to announce that Joanne Tyo has been promoted to Vice President of Hospital Finance.

Tyo joined Acuity in 2003. She was Acuity’s fourth employee. Over the years, she has held various business and financial-related roles, many as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  In her most recent leadership position, she was the CFO in the Ohio and West Virginia markets. 

Rick Cassady, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Acuity Healthcare, said Tyo is an experienced financial leader with a strong healthcare background.  He is confident that Tyo is well equipped to help lead strategic improvements in our hospitals. “Her extensive experience, leading the financial operations of long-term acute care hospitals and her intimate knowledge of our reporting systems, makes her a perfect fit,” he said.

Tyo holds a bachelor of arts in accounting from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. She started her career in healthcare in the business office of a large healthcare company.  She worked her way through all aspects of accounting, and was subsequently, promoted to a management position. She served as treasurer on the board of her local high school orchestra for its two-year term.
