Repatriation of capital set for 180 days
Luanda, ANGOLA, February 7 - Governor of the National Reserve Bank of Angola (BNA), José de Lima Massano, said on Wednesday that the Angolan government will grant 180 days to allow national citizens to repatriate financial resources illicitly domiciled abroad.,
The deadline will start counting after the document, which was submitted to the National Assembly for approval, to be published in the State Gazeta.
José de Lima Massano, who was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the 1st Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers, warned that in cases where illicit resources are not repatriated within the period in question, the national authorities will make use of all available means.
The objective of this measure is that, in accordance with the law, the repatriation of the financial amounts to the national territory is ensured.
The bill aims to allow resident nationals and companies based in the country that have financial resources abroad to repatriate them on a voluntary basis.
