Glenn Almack shows his support for lifesaving cancer research foundation

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, February 7, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Well known for his philanthropic efforts, Glenn Almack has made substantial donations to a number of local, national and international charities in recent years.

Having recently donated to the Alzheimer's Association, the International Dyslexia Association, and the Visiting Nurse Association, Almack's latest pledge is to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

"The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a highly-rated philanthropic organization, one which is top rated and focuses on funding grants to cancer researchers," says Almack.

"They are targeting their funding to end this disease," he adds. "The foundation funds the best and brightest researchers in the world."

Indeed, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation awards grants to hundreds of the world's leading scientific minds, supporting lifesaving research into every aspect of breast cancer in order to find a cure.

"Their 275 grantees come from all disciplines of science and are given the creativity and intellectual freedom to pursue the most promising research," explains Glenn Almack. "Each has an ultimate goal: to prevent and find a cure for breast cancer."

Since 1993, the foundation has worked tirelessly to fuel advances in diagnosis, treatment and future prevention of breast cancer.

Thanks to fundraising and donations from supporters like Almack, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is on track to award almost $60 million in grants in 2017 and 2018. These grants support the research of the foundations 275 grantees, based at top universities and medical institutions around the world.

In its 25 year history, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation has raised a total of over half a billion dollars.

Speaking of his recent donation, Almack says, "My donation is in honor of my daughters and my former wife, as I have experienced the personal impact of this disease on family members."

He continues, "I have a historic interest in cancer research, based on researching and investing in biotech companies that focus on oncology solutions to end breast cancer as well as other forms of cancer."

Speaking of the foundation, President Myra Biblowit comments, "Our goal is to accelerate the breakthroughs bringing us closer to a cure to speed up the progress that will improve survivorship and quality of life for breast cancer patients today."

Glenn Almack adds to that sentiment, saying, "If society funds these organizations and charities, cancer treatment and cure solutions will be accelerated and realized."

"The end of cancer begins with you," says the foundation. "Until the number of deaths from breast cancer is zero, we will not stop. Join us, and help fuel the research of tomorrow needed to save lives today. Everyone can be part of the solution. We are all part of the cure.
