Luanda, ANGOLA, February 1 - The President of Angola, João Lourenço, is since Wednesday in the south-western Namibe Province to among other issues preside over on Thursday, in Moçâmedes City, the opening of the 2018/2019 school term. ,

 

The president’s agenda includes visits to several socioeconomic undertakings in Tômbwa and Moçâmedes municipalities, meetings with local businesspeople, religious personalities and other individualities, as well as is to unveil the Praia Amélia social housing project.

 

Meanwhile, data provided by the Ministry of Education says that Angola needs roughly 70,000 teachers to respond to the demand imposed by almost 10 million enrolled students for this school term.

 

The number of teachers currently operating in the different subsystems is around 245,978, this according to the data provided by the Integrated Inquiry on People’s Well-Being (IBEP).
