Angola: President leaves for Addis Ababa
Luanda, ANGOLA, January 27 - The Angolan president, João Lourenço, left Luanda early Saturday morning for Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) to participate in the 30th Ordinary Session of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union on January 28, 29. ,
The Angolan Head of State is expected to deliver a speech in the first day of the meeting as it will be his first time to participate in the event in the capacity of a president.
According to the Angolan foreign Affairs minister, Manuel Augusto, who is already in Addis Ababa, João Lourenço’s agenda will include participation in statutory events as well as in bilateral and multilateral meetings.
He explained that during this sort of summit, regional groups such as the Southern Africa Development community (SADC) regularly promote specific meetings, in which the Angolan president is expected to attend.
