Moçâmedes - The governor of the southwestern Namibe province, Carlos da Rocha Cruz, urged on Sunday the Angolan Air force (FANA) to always be in combative readiness to prevent events that could endanger the country?s air space. ,

The governor, who was addressing the celebration ceremony of the Air forces’ 42th anniversary marked on January 21, stated that this sector of the Armed Forces is also being called for the reconstruction of the country, safety of the people and protection of the national interest.

He also underlined that the Angolan government is committed to the modernization of the equipment of this army’s branch together with training of staff.

In his turn, the commander of the 214 unit of the Air Forces, colonel Carlos Augusto Lopes, underscored this Defense sector has been improving the troops skills through technical professional training under the ongoing edification and restructuring of the sector to ensure peace and country’s stability.
