Lunda Norte hosts more than 21,000 refugees from the DRC

Dundo, ANGOLA, December 14 - Over Twenty one thousand refuggees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are living in the Angolan eastern province of Lunda Norte as refugees, the provincial director of the Foreign Migration Service (SME), Pedro Mulua, announced Tuesday, in Dundo city.,

Among the refugees in Lunda Norte, there are at least ten thousand children, the official added in statements to ANGOP.

As a result of the political and military instability in the Democratic Republic of Congo, more than 31 thousand  citizens of this neighboring country sought shelter in Angola from April to June this year.

Ten thousand of them have already returned to their country of origin.
