Collective bargaining begins for CUPE 3131 members at Cape Breton University

SYDNEY, Nova Scotia, Dec. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3131 have begun bargaining with Cape Breton University. Negotiations began on November 6, 2017.  

More negotiation dates are scheduled for December 18, 19 and 20. The collective agreement expired on March 31, 2016.

“We are looking forward to an amicable round of bargaining and hope to conclude a new collective agreement,” says CUPE 3131 President Darren MacKinnon.

CUPE Local 3131 represents approximately 60 members who work as administrative and support staff at Cape Breton University.
