SME engaged in staff training to counter illegal immigration

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 1 - The Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) will invest in the technical training of its staff to meet the demands imposed by the increasing illegal immigration that the country experiences.,

The measure, announced Friday by Interior Minister, Ângelo da Veiga Tavares, involves a greater understanding of the legal regime of foreigners, as well as allowing requests directed to the sector to be addressed expeditiously.

According to Ângelo da Veiga Tavares, who was speaking at the opening of the XVI Extended Consultative Council of the SME, one of the challenges in the context of migration has to do with the abolition of visas in ordinary passports, which have been in force since that day, with South Africa and Mozambique.

The Cabinet minister defended more rigorous recruitment of SME staff and the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in order to rescue the respect of these institutions.

The official warned that the ministry will not be condescending to the staffs who commit any crime in the performance of their duties.
