Pretoria - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, today paid tribute to Oliver Reginald Tambo, a former South African anti-apartheid politician, with the laying of a wreath at the tomb of one of the central figures of the African National Congress (ANC).,

The Angolan statesman, who is in Pretoria since Thursday for an official visit marked by the signing of five bilateral cooperation agreements at the invitation of his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma, previously placed flowers at the Sacred Tomb of the Heroes in Freedom Park.

Through the ties of the two peoples, President João Lourenço praised the importance of the heroes of liberation and colonial oppression in the speeches, that is why he insisted on honoring the memory of the politician born in the Eastern Cape on October 27, 1917.

The Head of State and his entourage will return to Luanda on Saturday afternoon after meeting with leaders of the Angolan community in South Africa at the Embassy Chancellery in Pretoria.
