Angola: Government adopts memorandum on projects for Cabinda

Cabinda, ANGOLA, November 8 - Cabinet Council's Economic Commission Wednesday approved a memorandum on the current situation of the projects under the central and local governments, based on the 2017 Public Investment Programme for the northern province of Cabinda. ,

 

The information is contained in a press note from the first Ordinary Meeting of the Economic Commission held in Cabinda, under the guidance of the head of State, João Lourenço.

 

The Commission recommended its permanent implementation, as well as the strengthening of supervising and monitoring mechanisms, due to the constraints identified.

 

The meeting also discussed proposal for the 2018 public investment programme for Cabinda.

 

Addressing the opening ceremony, the President announced the Executive's intention to hold the Economic Commission’s meetings in the other country’s provinces in order to learn more about the pressing issues the local people experience.

 

 

João Lourenço has pledged to monitor the implementation of the public investment projects from and to Cabinda, with a view to reverse the current situation in the province.

 

 

In addition to its members, the session was attended by provincial governor, other ministers and officials from different levels of Cabinda province.

 

The President, who started Tuesday his visit to the far-northern Cabinda province, is expected back to Luanda Wednesday.
