Academic wants effective supervision of Government acts

Luanda, ANGOLA, October 25 - The deputy dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Agostinho Neto University, Luzia Milagre, Wednesday in Luanda defended an effective oversight of the Government’s actions by the Members of Parliament, for the strengthening of democracy.,

Speaking at the opening of the 7th Colloquium on "democracy and elections in the 25 years of multiparty system in Angola," she stressed that the deputies have the mission to oversee the actions of the Government, and from a practical point of view this action has been little remarkable.

She considered the oversight of the deputies as weak, but believes in improving that assumption as the Angolan democratic process is consolidated.

According to the academic, the realization of this colloquium is one of the ways teachers and students reflect on democracy and the multiparty system in Angola.
