Angolan President sympathizes with Portugal

Luanda, ANGOLA, October 20 - The Angolan President, João Lourenço, expressed concern Thursday about the tragic consequences of the wildfires that broke out in Portugal in the last few days, which caused a large number of lives and material losses. ,

In a note addressed to his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Head of State expressed, on behalf of the Angolan people, the Executive and on his own, solidarity with the Government and people of Portugal, in the face of  "such incidents of serious proportions."

João Lourenço also assured to the Portuguese President can count on the support of the Angolans so that, in some way, to help to minimize the suffering of the victims.

The Portuguese President recalled Wednesday that more than 100 people were killed in less than four months by forest fires.
