Angola at Great Lakes Defence meeting
Luanda, ANGOLA, October 11 - Angola's minister of National Defense Salviano de Jesus Sequeira is attending Wednesday the regular meeting of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.

According to a note from the Ministry of National Defence reached Angop, the Angolan minister will hand over the baton of the chairmanship of the Ministers of Defence Committee of ICGLR to his Congolese counterpart.
The 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Great Lakes Region, currently being chaired by Angola, will take place on the 19 October in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo).
Angola has friendship relations with the neighbouring Republic of the Congo.
The ICGLR was created following the political conflicts that marked the Great Lakes Region in 1994.
Under the Angolan Presidency, the Institution developed various actions in the last years to ensure the stability of the region.
The organisation groups Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
