The governor was appointed by Presidential Decree on 28 September and was sworn in on 30 September by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

In the province, Ernesto Kiteculo was received at the airport Deolinda Rodrigues by the outgoing governor, Cândida Narciso, in the presence of members of the local government, traditional authorities, religious entities and representatives of civil society.

Born on August 15, 1961, in the municipality of Kibala, Cuanza Sul province, Ernesto Kiteculo holds a law degree, a master's degree in Management of Financial and Monetary Markets.

He has already been head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Culture and, until the date of his appointment, served as deputy governor for the economic and productive sector of the province of Cuando Cubango.
