President Donald J. Trump spoke today with former Governor of Puerto Rico Luis Fortuño regarding Puerto Rico’s recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and to gauge Governor Fortuño assessment of the response effort to date. Former Governor Fortuño assessed that the response and recovery effort to these historic hurricanes was proceeding well, considering the catastrophic nature of the damage. The President pledged his Administration’s continued commitment to provide an unprecedented Federal response, and the former Governor thanked the President for his leadership and commitment to the people of Puerto Rico. Both shared their praise for Governor Ricardo Rosselló of Puerto Rico and his steadfast leadership.
