iVantage Research Identifies Top 20 Performing Critical Access Hospitals

Portland, ME, Sept. 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

This week, at the National Rural Health Association’s Critical Access Hospital Conference, iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health will recognize the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs). The release of this year’s top rural providers expands upon research presented as part of the 2017 Rural Relevance Study.

The Top 20 CAHs were determined based on the Hospital Strength INDEX® and its eight indices of strength including inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charges and financial stability. This elite group was selected from iVantage’s Top 100 CAH list, which was released earlier this year. The full list of the Top 20 is available here.

“Our analysis shows that these Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals excel in managing risk, achieve higher quality, secure better outcomes, have increased patient satisfaction, or are operating at a lower cost than their peers,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader of the Chartis Center for Rural Health. “These accomplishments are particularly impressive considering that they care for older, sicker and more medically and socially-challenged populations and particularly important as they face an uncertain future with proposed legislative policies.”

The Top 20 CAHs will be recognized at the NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference, September 27-29 in Kansas City, MO. For more information about the 2017 top performers and the Rural Relevance Study, visit ivantageINDEX.com.
