/EINPresswire.com/ -- OKEMOS, MI--(Marketwired - August 28, 2017) - If you haven't made an RV or camping reservation yet for Labor Day travels, there is no reason to panic because the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) website www.michiganrvandcampgrounds.org can help.

Last minute-Many campgrounds have been booked for the Labor Day weekend months in advance, but there are some with limited availability and cancellation lists. Gary Becker, owner of Indigo Bluffs, in Empire, Michigan, said there are still some sites left and suggests going to their website www.indigobluffs.com to check availability. He also recommends checking the MARVAC website michiganrvandcampgrounds.org to pursue other camping opportunities across the state.

Roads go both ways-While northern Michigan is typically the first thought for RVers and campers, there are many beautiful campgrounds and experiences below the 45th parallel. Northpointe Shores RV Resort near Anchor Bay in Ira Township, Michigan is just one example. This brand new RV resort, which opened earlier this summer, has multiple full hookup sites available. "Since we are new, nobody knows about our great location close to Metro Detroit and our spectacular sunrise views over Anchor Bay," said Adam Janusch, owner of Northpointe Shores RV Resort.

Renting an RV-According to Dave Rochette with Westland Camping Center, in Westland, Michigan, they still have some pop-up campers available for the Labor Day weekend and also maintain a waiting list. Rochette suggests calling the store directly at 734-326-7700. General RV, the nation's largest family run RV dealership, has "just a handful" of RV rentals available in Michigan, said John Demick, rental director for General RV. "I suggest calling sooner than later, don't be too particular and keep expectations in check because at this point, it is what it is in terms of availability," he said.

With a little research and phone calling now, chances are you may be able to secure a spectacular spot for your late summer holiday travels. Get started now at www.michiganrvandcampgrounds.org.
