On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, congratulations to the people of Sao Tome and Principe on the 42nd anniversary of your independence on July 12th.
The U.S. commends Sao Tome and Principe’s long tradition of democracy, reinforced by the peaceful transfer of power after the presidential election of 2016. We applaud your efforts to develop your economy and protect marine areas.
The United States will continue to work in partnership with you to secure peace and security in the Gulf of Guinea.
