Neil Thomson Wins Transcontinental Trusts: International Forum 2017 ‘Rising Stars’ Competition

Thomson was invited to present his winning paper at the conference, and the paper will also be published in due course.
The paper won by unanimous decision of the competition judges, and was well received by the delegates. Thomson’s essay was in response to the question ‘Private client structures: showcasing legal innovation and world class expertise, or a device to help the rich get richer?’. It addressed this question in the context of trusts and the topical issue of cybersecurity in the trusts and private client industry.
The conference had over 230 attendees from across the Americas and Europe visiting to network and learn from leaders in the industry. More than 65 speakers including renowned judges, barristers, leading law firm partners and international experts from across the world took part in the private client and trusts event, and it is known as a “must attend” event in the Trust and Private Client Advisory industry.
