ESSEX, N.Y., USA, April 10, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- College For Every Student (CFES) announced today two upcoming live chats designed to help students in the CFES Program identify 21st-century careers and the college pathways to pursue them.

On Tuesday, April 25, the CFES live chat will offer students information about college pathways to careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). On Friday, May 12, Porter Braswell, CEO and co-founder of Jopwell, a career advancement platform for Black, Latino and Native American students and professionals, will provide insights regarding the business workplace and the Essential Skills, such as grit and resilience, that underlie individual success. Live-streaming times will be posted on the CFES YouTube channel one week before each live chat.

“Live chats extend our ability to offer students critical information from our business and college networks,” said Rick Dalton, president and CEO of College For Every Student. “Live chats also offer a complementary way to deepen student knowledge and understanding about what college-and-career readiness involves.”

Last month, the CFES live chat Developing Leadership Skills featured New England Patriots Linebackers Coach Brian Flores who shared his journey of becoming a leader and spoke to students about what being a leader means. In February, Dr. John Fortune of the University of Vermont led the CFES live chat focused on Healthcare Careers and described his experiences as a trauma surgeon and options in the healthcare field.

Over the past year, CFES live chats have enlisted professionals who have addressed college-and-career topics: the admissions process; paying for college; the realities of working in different fields; and the Essential Skills needed to succeed in college and the 21st-century workplace. These live chats are archived on the CFES YouTube channel.
