Theater Maker Nelagoh Shilongoh invited to Germany

Actor and theater maker Nelagoh Shilongoh has been invited to participate in a visit to Germany, themed “54th Theatertreffen Berlin 2017”. The visit takes place from 8 until 14 May 2017 and is part of the Visitors Programme of the German Federal Government. 

Together with other theatre critics, festival curators and directors, Mrs. Shilongoh will be presented an introduction to the promotion of theatre and insight into Berlin’s theatre scene. The programme will include visits with the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and representatives from the German Federal Cultural Foundation, the theater and international performance center Hebbel am Ufer (HAU), the Maxim Gorki theater and the Deutsches Theater.  

The group will visit the “Theatertreffen” theater festival as well as selected productions in German theatres. There will be opportunities to network, through workshops, with figures from the German theatre scene.  

On 28 March 2017, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Namibia, Christian Schlaga presented Mrs. Shilongoh with her letter of invitation at the embassy.
