Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor: Ecuador's First Round of Elections
The United States congratulates Ecuadorian voters on their participation in national elections on February 19. The Ecuadorian National Electoral Council (CNE) has announced that a second round of voting for president will be held April 2. We applaud the efforts of the CNE, and the work of international observation missions. We look forward to working with Ecuador's future leader, to fostering cooperation between our two peoples, and to strengthening the ties between our two nations.
