PALM BEACH, FL, USA, February 22, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The EW Foundation recently honored Richard McCready during a dinner at Renato’s in Palm Beach for his generous donation of $10,000 pledged during the foundation’s signature fundraising event, Books, Bellinis, & Bel Canto, held at Club Colette on Sunday, February 5, 2017.

Mr. McCready attended the musical brunch and expressed that his mother had been a former teacher and vice principal and he wished to honor her with a legacy gift to the EW Foundation to benefit underprivileged children.

Mr. McCready’s donation includes underwriting of four hundred eighty books (480) and an author visit for an entire Title I elementary school in Palm Beach County.

“Richard’s gift offers children, in many cases living below poverty level, an opportunity to have something not found in the home…a book to call their own. A book that not only engages the mind but also provides lessons on core values and social skills–skills that can greatly enhance an academic education,” commented Loretta Neff.

Hosting the dinner were Gail Worth, honorary event chair, and Loretta Neff, founder and executive director. Mr. McCready was presented a signature crystal book award as a gesture of appreciation for his generosity.
