/EINPresswire.com/ -- WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - December 20, 2016) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) released on Tuesday, December 20 a sources sought notice to help it identify contractors that may possess the capabilities to support the Individual Assistance Directorate, Recovery Division and provide damage assessments/inspections for Presidential Declared Disaster Declarations.

Assessors/inspectors conduct assessment/inspections on a house-by-house basis for disaster survivors that have registered for disaster assistance, and, during the assessment/inspection, record information about real and personal property that the incident affected. Assessors/inspectors then electronically submit the information to FEMA

The geographic locations and quantity of inspections will vary based on incident type and number of registrations for disaster assistance, with inspection volume ranging from 10 to 20,000 per day. Contractors invited to become FEMA assessors/inspectors must maintain scalable resources to receive and complete the number of inspections that vary with each disaster.

This potential requirement is for damage assessment/inspections services for an anticipated period of one year, plus four option years. The applicable NAICS code is 541350, and the place of performance will vary based on incident; however, the coverage area will include the United States and its territories.

Interested contractors must have expertise and experience in conducting damage assessments/inspections profession, as well as the following capabilities:

• Damage Inspection/Assessment Management
• Recruitment and Hiring
• Staff Retention
• Training
• Field and Operational Coordination
• Quality control

Interested contractors may submit a capability statement of no more than five pages, demonstrating how they are capable of meeting this requirement. Capability statements must respond to all items requested in the sources sought notice and include the following information:

• Name of business
• Contact information (address, telephone, facsimile, e-mail, website address)
• DUNS number, business size, and classification
• GSA contract number and period of performance (if vendor has a GSA contract that fulfills this requirement)
• Brief discussion of organizational capabilities, addressing each interest area and specifying whether the capability is in-house, outsourced, or nonexistent)
• Innovative approaches, if any
• Potentially significant organizational conflicts of interest
• Comments or concerns about the potential opportunity

Interested contractors must e-mail their capability statement to Christopher Jenson at christopher.jenson@fema.dhs.gov by no later than 12 p.m. EST on January 6, 2017.

To receive the contract, contractors must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database, and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
