VFW Post 1093 And VetToCEO Announce Jack Derby As Entrepreneurship Training Guest Speaker

Noted Sales & Marketing expert Jack Derby will join the veterans entrepreneurship training program as a guest speaker

IPSWICH, MA, USA, December 7, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- VFW Post 1093 and VetToCEO.org announced today that well known business leader, consultant, and business strategy, sales and marketing expert Jack Derby will join facilitators Phil Thomas and Ed Brzychcy as special guest speaker on sales & marketing topics.

A graduate of BC and University of Chicago, Jack has been president and CEO of several companies, EVP of Becton Dickinson Medical Systems and founded his consulting firm Derby Management 25 years ago. The firm assists businesses with strategic management and revenue growth and has deep expertise in angel, venture and private equity financing. He’s a professor of Entrepreneurial Marketing at Tufts University’s School of Engineering which named him the 2015 “Teacher of the Year” and a guest lecturer at MIT. Additionally, he’s active in many area organizations and is a director at Associated Industries of Massachusetts and a few area companies including Reiser and Chase Corp.

The program which includes modules on accounting, finance and operations in addition to sales and marketing prepares military veterans to evaluate various entrepreneurship models including start up, franchise and acquisition of a going concern. It guides them through the process of developing a fundable plan, and the online program has a track record of successful business launches.

The class which will be held weekly at Ipswich VFW Post 1093 on Wednesday evenings from 7-9:30pm, from January 11th through March 8th, 2017. (March 1st will be open for individual preparation.) Participants will pitch their plans to a panel of judges on March 8th, competing for cash prizes to support their business launch. Dinner will be provided at each session and limited childcare may be available through the collaboration of VFW Post 1093 and the Ipswich Family YMCA under the North Shore Veterans Collaborative.
