FORT LAUDERDALE, FL and STAMFORD, CT and ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - November 17, 2016) - Palisades Hudson Financial Group, a wealth management and financial planning firm, has named its first managing vice president and two new vice presidents.

Fort Lauderdale

Shomari Hearn has been promoted from vice president to its first-ever managing vice president. Based in the firm's Fort Lauderdale, Florida, office, Hearn will have executive responsibility for all of the firm's operations. He will concentrate on strategic initiatives such as the newly launched Entertainment and Sports Team.

Reporting to the firm's president, Larry M. Elkin, he will direct an expanded executive team that includes two newly promoted vice presidents.

Hearn joined the firm as an associate in 1998 and in 2005 established the Fort Lauderdale office. A New York City native, he is a 1997 graduate of Duke University. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification and the IRS's Enrolled Agent (EA) designation

Atlanta

Paul Jacobs has been promoted to vice president. He continues to serve as the firm's chief investment officer, overseeing more than $1.2 billion in client assets. Besides chairing the firm's investment committee, he'll continue to serve as a financial adviser to the many clients who have worked with him since he joined the firm in 2002.

A graduate of New York University's Stern School of Business, Jacobs holds degrees in finance and accounting. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification and the IRS's Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.

Scarsdale/Stamford

Eric Meermann has been promoted from client service manager to vice president. He'll continue to be the client service executive in charge of the firm's Northeast practice and the head of the firm's national business-valuation practice.

He'll also direct the firm's new Entertainment and Sports Team. Registered with the NFL Players Association as a financial adviser, Meermann will provide complete financial services to metropolitan New York's large community of film, music, television, online video and stage performers, as well as professional athletes and sports executives.

A graduate of New York University's Stern School of Business, Meermann joined Palisades Hudson in 2000. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification, the IRS's Enrolled Agent (EA) designation and the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Move to Stamford

Palisades Hudson will relocate its Northeast office from Scarsdale, New York, to Stamford, Connecticut in January.
