/EINPresswire.com/ -- LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - November 16, 2016) - The Master of Interior Architecture program offered by UCLA Extension in collaboration with Cal State Polytechnic, Pomona, has been ranked nationally a top ten graduate level interior design program by Design Intelligence in the 2017 annual survey of America's Best Architecture & Design Schools.

Design Intelligence (DI) is an architectural research organization and ranks programs based on responses from hiring professionals, deans, and students in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and industrial design. The DI Quarterly, 2016, lists the rankings.

The Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) degree partnership between UCLA Extension and Cal State Polytechnic, Pomona, has existed since 2010. Both institutions share academic oversight and the program has been continuously accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). Upon degree completion, graduates have gone to work at Gensler, HOK, Perkins & Will, Rottet Studio and other world class design firms.

"Los Angeles is an internationally known center of professional design education," said Jeffrey Daniels, FAIA, Program Director, Architecture and Interior Design at UCLA Extension. "The national ranking by Design Intelligence acknowledges the Master of Interior Architecture program's journey from modest beginnings to what is now the only CIDA accredited MIA program in the nation to be offered on a continuing education basis."

Courses in the MIA degree program include Elements of Design, Digital Presentation, Environmental Arts, Interior Architecture Studio and project management at the foundation and advanced level. Thesis Project Design, professional development and internships, are also part of the program. It is typical for 95% of graduates to have secured employment upon graduation. Courses are classroom based and online beginning every quarter. Find out about the MIA degree here.

Design Intelligence forecasts growth for professionals with design education as businesses, nonprofits and governments seek design based problem-solving.
