TiE Detroit Announces Jai Shekhawat as Grand Keynote Speaker for TiECon Midwest 2016

Jai Shekhawat, Founder and Former CEO, SAP Fieldglass will be Grand Keynote Speaker at Ignite2Disrupt.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN, U.S., October 11, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Detroit chapter of TiE, largest non-profit entrepreneurial organization, announced Jai Shekhawat as the grand keynote speaker for TiECon Midwest 2016, Michigan’s largest conference to be held October 27 and 28, 2016 at The Henry, Dearborn. The announcement was made by TiE Detroit President, Tel Ganesan.

Shekhawat is founder and former CEO of Fieldglass, a cloud-based technology system for the procurement and management of labor and services. The company was acquired by SAP, the world's third-largest independent software manufacturer, for over $1 billion in 2015. While at Fieldglass, Shekhawat grew the company from a startup to more than 700 employees with customers in 100 countries.

Shekhawat has received numerous awards and honors, including being named Ernst & Young's 2012 Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year, and securing recognition for Fieldglass as Illinois Venture Capital Association's 2014 Private Equity Portfolio Company of the Year. He has also served various civic and board positions including Governor Rauner's Illinois Innovation Council, the Mayor's Council of Technology Advisors for the City of Chicago, the Field Museum Board of Trustees, the Membership Committee of the Economic Club of Chicago, and the Board of TiE Midwest. Additionally, Shekhawat is a founding member of the Firestarter Fund, an organization that mentors and invests in Chicago start-ups.
