In 1980, Donald Trump hired around 200 undocumented Polish immigrants to knock down a building to clear the way for his Trump Tower in Manhattan. The workers were paid $4 to $5 an hour which at the time was less than half the prevailing union wage and just above the state minimum wage of $3.10/hr. The workers weren’t paid regularly, were never paid overtime, and when some of them asked where their paychecks were, they were offered vodka instead. Trump said he had no idea they were undocumented and tried to blame it all on his contractor. But in 1991, a judge ruled that Trump owed the Polish workers $325,415 plus interest. Trump appealed it and settled out of court in 1999 for an undisclosed amount. #ElectionsMatter2016 #PROUAW ... See MoreSee Less
