Record number of first and second-year students to move into residence

Residence Services ready to welcome up to 2,000 students in one day


/EINPresswire.com/ -- On Sunday, September 4, up to 2,000 new and returning University of Calgary students will move their belongings into their new homes and begin their residence experience on Move-in Day. Close to 500 student and staff volunteers will be on hand to help.

Move-in Day 2016 will see approximately 850 first-year students moving in - compared to approximately 715 first-year students in previous years - making it the largest number of first-year students living in residence on record. Additionally, there are approximately 480 second-year students moving in, an increase of 100 over last year.

Move-in day is the prelude to Fall Orientation Week, where all new students are welcomed to campus.
