Tony Jaillot to lead Cargill’s personal care activities and manage global team

MECHELEN, Belgium - August 29, 2016 – Cargill today announced that Tony Jaillot has joined the company to lead its ambitious personal care business as Global General Manager. Jaillot comes to Cargill with more than 20 years of experience in the personal care and cosmetics industry. Before joining Cargill he served in a number of leadership roles at personal care ingredient companies such as BASF and Gattefossé.

Colleen May, heading Cargill’s personal care business as Senior Sponsor: “We are very excited that Tony joined Cargill to lead our global personal care team. Based on our heritage and expertise as a manufacturer of food ingredients, we have successfully developed one of the broadest portfolios of plant-based personal care ingredients, including texturizers, ethanol, glycerin, polyols and plant-derived lipids. Tony’s deep understanding of the personal care market will support Cargill’s growth plans and ambition to serve personal care manufacturers looking for more plant-based and sustainably sourced ingredients, as well as integrated formulation expertise.”

Natural, sustainable performance

As consumers increasingly seek personal care products made from plant-based, sustainably sourced ingredients, manufacturers aspire to produce products with cleaner labels including more ‘green’ and commonly known ingredients. These ingredients must deliver the same – or better – quality and product performance as the synthetic materials they replace. Tony Jaillot, Global General Manager Personal Care: “The personal care market is increasingly driven by consumers who have a growing interest in the origins of the ingredients used in the end product, and how these impact personal health and wellbeing. With an unrivalled portfolio of plant-based ingredients and deep application expertise, Cargill truly plays a value-adding and forward-looking role. I am very excited to join a team of highly motivated experts, with the opportunity to unlock Cargill’s personal care potential and to make our customers more successful.”

Beyond the extensive portfolio, Cargill offers innovation capabilities and services to meet the rapidly evolving needs of today’s consumer. With a global network of production facilities, R&D and application labs, technical service centers, sales and customer service teams, Cargill ensures close proximity to customers, whilst working in partnership for a better understanding and satisfaction of their needs.

Stand out in the market

Cargill’s personal care ingredients are derived from plants and have been tested on performance and safety in personal care applications.

Owing to their plant origin and method of processing, several of Cargill’s ingredients are certified by ECOCERT/COSMOS as natural cosmetic ingredients, allowing manufacturers to differentiate their products and stand out in the market compared to traditional personal care products that are based on synthetic ingredients. As such, Cargill’s broad portfolio of plant-based and functional ingredients are the perfect answer to fulfill and satisfy the need for more natural, sustainable ingredients that don’t compromise on performance.
