Special Spectators Announces 15th College Football Season Hosting Seriously Ill Children and Their Families at VIP Game Days Nationwide

As National Charity Prepares for Biggest Season to Date It Competes for a Major Donation, Trailing the Lead by Only 4% -- Voting Period Ends Saturday, September 3, 2016

/EINPresswire.com/ -- NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - August 29, 2016) - With an entirely volunteer troop of passionate sports fans spreading the joy of Game Day, Special Spectators announces its 15th season hosting seriously ill children and their families at VIP all-access events nationwide. At the same time, the 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that creates magical Game Day experiences for local children and their families, has been competing for the past five weeks in a competition, "For the Love of Sports", to win a $50,000 donation-an amount that could change the game for Special Spectators and the families it serves. As the Special Spectators community rallies, please cast your vote today: www.specialspectators.org/voting

"This season marks our 15th serving incredible children in communities all over the country, children whose day to day lives can be incredibly tough. The unbridled joy of a very special Game Day seems to change all that," said Founder and Executive Director Blake Rockwell. "We now have an opportunity to receive $50,000 through Gatorade's 'For the Love of Sports'. Our community of friends, families, coaches, and doctors has rallied. We are close, only trailing by 4%. It's very exciting for us. We need everyone to vote today and daily before the competition ends on September 3."

As the organization plans nearly 50 events this season, such a donation will fuel the charity's expansion and further enhance the already remarkable signature experience, enabling Special Spectators to play a significant role in the lives of even more seriously ill children this season and beyond. Special Spectators is known for hosting these special game day experiences at collegiate athletic events nationwide, and has served nearly 9,000 children and their families to date at nearly 350 Game Days. Special Spectators partners with some of the top programs in the country including defending National Champion, Alabama.
